Story of my week – Week 50 of 2013
I’ve been rather busy last week. As blizzard Alexa hit the country, we were hibernating and although I did have work, I had time for some extra stuff.
We drank lots and lots and lots of rum cocktails to keep us warm while temperatures were below zero. I don’t follow a specific recipe, but put all the things that are good for you: fresh ginger, fresh mint, lots of lemon juice and lemons, brown sugar and/or honey, green or black tea and brown Havana rum.
I guarantee you won’t feel cold inside. :lol:
Minutes before the snow-storm started one of our friends wanted to hit home. Oops, too late. He had to stay over and I did some extra efforts and we made sardines together. I had bought them earlier this year hoping to grill them during one of our barbecue trips, but they were still in the freezer. They were not perfect as we bought whole sardines and I’m not familiar with cleaning fish but they were tasty.
Anyhow, the boys ate 1 kg by themselves. Here’s the (French) recipes for Sardines à la Marocaine (the Moroccan way). I just used parsley instead of coriander as the Mister doesn’t like it.
As I’m not the kind of person that likes to waste time in the kitchen I try to have things in the freezer that can be ready in no time. This pizza dough recipe is the best thing I discovered in ages. It never fails me. And it’s freezer friendly! Just excellent.
This is one is about 75% white and 25% whole wheat. We used what we had in the fridge. Some left over chicken, tomato, frozen corn, barbecue sauce, tuna, lettuce and Caesar dressing. Needless to say, there were no leftovers.
And of course, last but not least, the books I’ve read:
